Fun with Family!

This weekend, my mom, Sarah, and her oh so cute kiddos came up to play! We went to The Living Planet Aquarium which impressed us! They had a lot of really cool animals and it was so fun to go through and see them all! Below are just some fun pictures of our day.

My mom and Rylee - she does not smile for cameras!!

And went to Disney on Ice - Which was AWESOME!!

This picture is kinda dark, but this Ursela costume killed me!

Even Ryan was entertained the whole show!

And the weekend before that we had even MORE fun with family. We went up to Sandy and had dinner and coloring of the eggs. I didn't get very many pictures, but of course the ones I got of are Kirra and Ashlyn, how could you not!

We sure love our families and are glad they are so close to us!

Recent Events

It's almost to the point where it's been so long, it's embarrassing to update this!! I was worried I wouldn't remember how! In my defense, we've been pretty busy - school... holidays... spending time with family.... working on our house.... but I'll just post real quick about our Vegas trip.

My sister Sarah had been asking me and James to come down to Las Vegas with them for a while and get tickets to the game show "Let's Make a Deal", but things kept coming up and we kept pushing it back further and further. Finally in the middle of the week, she called up and said this weekend is the last taping, get down here. My James had to work so couldn't come, so we grabbed the next available James, my brother, and headed down!

The first night: we checked into the hotel and grabbed a bite to eat.....

Sarah and Cody at Baja Miguel's.

My brother and me. The matching plaid was not planned.

Then we hit up the bingo tables....

we started out excited.. feeling some winning in the air....

james and cody were slightly less excited... but still feeling a victory.

two hours and lots of stamping later... no winnings.

but we were okay with that. we still had Let's Make A Deal bright and early the next morning.

We weren't allowed to take camera's in, so a quick, pictureless, summary of our first game show debut.

For those who don't really know the show (i didn't!), everyone is supposed to dress up as something, and then it's kinda like the Price is Right. Cody was a hunter, Sarah was a box of Valentine's Day Conversation hearts (we went two weeks before V-Day), James was a hillbilly, and I was a pirate. I'm so sad we don't have any pictures of us all dressed up!

We wait in line for about 4 hours, and finally get on the stage and are seated in the far corner. The camera's equipment couldn't even move over that far haha so we knew we weren't going to be on tv, and none of us got called up as contestants.

We got up from our crappy seats and were exiting the staging room when the producers said that they had some extra seats for the next taping if we wanted to come back. We thought about it, and decided we had nothing else to do so why not. Throughout the wait of getting on the second taping, each of us at one time or another thought it was pointless to stay again and wanted to leave.

But boy are we glad we didn't!! Tune in on April 6th to see one of us be a big winner with curtain #3!!!

Cody and Sarah getting ready to check out.

That really took up most of our day, and then the next morning we just checked out and headed home. It was a quick trip, but very much worth it. I loved spending some time with my brother and sister and am glad we all live close enough that we can do fun things like that.

And finally - we've actually made some progress on our house! This week, we finished up painting one of the guest rooms, and the guest bathroom. James has also been working on finishing up all the closets in the guest rooms and our master - I'm so excited to have a place to hang our clothes!!

Guest Bathroom #1 - Just needs a frame for the mirror - and it's completely finished!

Guest Bedroom #1 - we also finished up painting one of the guest rooms, and picked out colors for the other two completely empty rooms to get finished up this week also!

This is in the middle of James' closet project for one of the guest rooms. I'm glad he's so handy because I wouldn't even want to guess the cost of having someone come put the closets in.

And now I know why I don't blog very much! I don't know if everyone else struggles with putting pictures up like I do, but i can't ever get them to go where I want! They always just go in a big group up at the top and I slowly have to drag them through all the texts, which messes up the spacing, and drives me nuts!! But other than that, life is pretty good at the Wyatt house :)

Life Update

We'll Go Most Recent Working Back:
Part 1: The Birthday: On Saturday, James turned 2-4. Getting up there in age! He had to work that day though so we didn't really get to play until later , but we went out to a movie (land of the lost. zero stars), out to eat (outback. five stars), and then came home and had cake and some present opening. The next day, we went to his parents house and had more dinner and more cake! James couldn't have been happier because they made ribs and let's call a spade a spade, I can't cook.

Hope you had a good day babe! Sure love you.

this is us at his parents house. notice how they didn't have candles so there are 2 toothpicks then 4 to make 24. haha good ol Kathy.

Handsome Birthday Boy

(looks exactly like picture above with me photoshopped out?)

cake and presents - the rain hasn't allowed us to go play with the fat bat yet.

opening the goods.

Part Deux: The Anniversary. June 7th was our first anniversary! We celebrated first by going out to the grandparents house in vernon and playing with the family! I miss living close to all of them so it's always nice when I get to see them. Especially when Rylee and Ryan come up!

Sarah, Brother James, Me, Ryan (nephew, not child - that'll take a few more anniversaries), Husband James, and Ben.

We then went out on a fancy little date to the chef's table - it was so nice and I appreciate james' wanting to make the day special.

1 year.

1 hour.

Many of you may not know this, but I really went out on a limb marrying James. It broke my two rules of marriage as a child.

Rule 1: When I was in elementary school, we would line up for lunch by our last name, and with Pace, I was always more towards the back. One day I was really upset about this because all the Allens, and Crosbys got more recess time then I did because I had to wait in line longer. I told my teacher that day that I would only marry someone who's last name ended with an A so my kids wouldn't have to suffer the way I did.

Rule 2: My Mom has a brother named Dennis, which is also my Dad's name. I also decided as a kid that I would never marry someone with the same name as my brother because I didn't understand how you could kiss them without always being reminded of your brother.

So of course, I married James Wyatt, and even though our kids will be even further back then I was in line, I couldn't be happier :) I'm so grateful to have him as a husband and best friend.

Part III, IV, and V: We'll wrap this up, but this last piece is very exciting for me. Two weeks ago I got rear-ended on the way to work. This isn't usually a good way to start out a Monday, but I was just relieved that for once it wasn't my fault! I'm infamous for clipping, crashing, scratching, denting, not putting brakes on, or anything else that can damage a car. The rental place obviously doesn't know this because they gave me a big F150 to drive for three weeks but we should have our girl back in about another week! She put up quite the fight.

James has been busy putting the sprinklers in, I feel so bad he can't finish because the rain has been coming non-stop! But he's done a great job - being handy is so attractive :)

and last with no pictures, but certainly not least - James' sister Mandy just found out she is having a GiRl! We are so excited for another cute niece! Congrats Smith Family!

The Happiest Place on Earth!

Last weekend - james took his annual golfing trip with the boys, and since I'm scared to death of staying the night in our house alone, I took off with the family to Disneyland! At first I was kinda like we're all pretty old... is disneyland gonna be exciting with no kids?... but it was so much fun! The lines were short - the weather was great - the song "it's a small world" was filling the air... Below are some pictures that I was able to snag.

the classic just about to enter picture.

1 Part "Ben"zene. Check.

Adam's never been one to listen...

Momma and Dad

Adam and Ben showing just how small of a world it really is...

since my mom and dad, and mike and jeni were all "couples" I spent a lot of time with these two on the rides - thanks for hanging out with me Adam and Ben!

and now for the real happiest place on earth - the beach! we went to the beach on saturday but it was a pretty crappy beach day so we didn't get to go in the water, but we played some bocci ball and walked the shore, so still a great day. James told me I couldn't take the camera to the beach because I would ruin it (he has his reasons) so I only took a couple pictures and then hid it the rest of the day.

freezing and playing some games

My dad celebrating his victory in bocci ball.

and last but not least - my adorable nephew was born on Monday - can't wait to go see him!

And that concludes the world's longest post! Slacking sure comes back to get ya. Hope everyone is doing well!
